Vivian’s comments came as a direct response to the interviewer’s question about her many half-siblings. She responded bluntly, “I will say I do not actually know how many siblings I have, if you include half-siblings. That’s just a fun fact. It’s really good for two truths and a lie.”

This response seemed to encapsulate her detached and somewhat irreverent attitude toward her father’s rapidly expanding family.

When asked about the recent arrival of another of Musk’s children, Vivian admitted that she was just as surprised as the rest of the public.

“I found out about the Shivon Zilis thing the same time everyone else did. I had no idea before that,” she explained. This comment referred to the revelation that Elon Musk fathered twins with Shivon Zilis, a top executive at his company Neuralink. The news of the twins sent shockwaves through the media, but for Vivian, it seemed more like another distant family update that she was quick to brush off.

This disconnect is further demonstrated by her reaction to the birth of another child of Musk’s with Canadian musician Grimes. Vivian revealed that she learned about the arrival of Grimes’ second child with Elon through social media, which she describes as the primary way she keeps up with the developments in her father's personal life.

"For a time, me and Grimes were not really in communication because I wasn’t in communication with anyone in that family," Vivian shared. "Which still holds true." Her decision to remain emotionally and physically distant from her father and his other partners highlights her disinterest in engaging with that side of the family.

Vivian’s blunt and unapologetic tone during the interview was evident when she expressed her feelings about staying informed on the activities of Musk’s extended family. “I don’t keep up with that side of the family because… I don’t,” she said.

"My mom doesn’t really either. I don’t really give a f--k what they do. This is not my problem." Her casual dismissal of the other Musk family members, including her siblings, stands in stark contrast to the public fascination with Elon Musk's personal life and family dynamics.

This sense of detachment is not only emotional but also practical. Elon Musk has, by his own admission, fathered as many as 14 children across four different mothers, including Vivian’s mother, Justine Wilson.

In addition to his children with Justine, Musk has had four children with Shivon Zilis, a former executive at his company Neuralink, and three with Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher.

The recent births of a 13th and 14th child—one with Zilis and another that has not yet been publicly acknowledged by Musk—add yet more complexity to Musk’s personal life.
