Kim Zolciak Demands Psychological Evaluation for Kroy Biermann, Citing Possible CTE

Reality TV star Kim Zolciak is taking legal action against her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, asking the court to mandate a psychological evaluation to determine if he is suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

In newly filed court documents, Zolciak claims that Biermann, a former NFL player, has exhibited disturbing behavior that she believes could be linked to the degenerative brain disease, which has been found in many retired football players.

Zolciak alleges that Kroy’s actions have become increasingly erratic, pointing to profanity-laced outbursts in front of their four minor children as a major concern. She also accuses him of physical violence and claims he has engaged in “extreme sexual promiscuity.”

According to her filing, Biermann has taken control of their children’s cell phones in an effort to prevent them from contacting her, further escalating tensions between the two.

CTE is a progressive brain condition believed to be caused by repeated blows to the head. Symptoms often include mood swings, aggression, impulsivity, and cognitive decline.

In her filing, Zolciak cites a Boston University study that found CTE in over 90% of former NFL players who participated in the research. Given Biermann’s eight-year football career, she argues that it is “totally possible” that he, too, is suffering from the disease.

Zolciak’s request comes amid an already messy and highly publicized divorce battle. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and the ex-NFL linebacker have been locked in a bitter legal fight for months, with allegations and counterclaims flying back and forth.

This isn’t the first time psychological evaluations have been brought up in their divorce proceedings. In 2023, Biermann requested a court-ordered evaluation for Zolciak, citing her alleged gambling addiction as a major problem.
