Michael Lohan, the father of Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested in Texas on a felony assault charge, marking yet another chapter in his tumultuous history. The 64-year-old was taken into custody after his estranged wife, Kate Major Lohan, accused him of physically assaulting her.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Michael Lohan has been charged with “continuous violence against the family,” a felony offense. The case took a serious turn when Kate Major reported the incident while at a medical follow-up appointment.
Authorities say Major spotted Lohan lurking in the parking lot, prompting her to call 911. When deputies arrived, she informed them that he had allegedly flipped her out of a chair at their residence just days earlier, causing pain and discomfort.
A female officer on the scene observed visible bruises on her body, which further supported her claims.
Lohan was later arrested at his home in north Harris County and placed on a $30,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Major, who has been entangled in a volatile relationship with Lohan for years, broke her silence following his arrest. In a statement exclusively to Fox News Digital, she said, “I’m praying for privacy for the sake of my kids and myself and pray justice is finally served.”
Her plea for justice suggests that this incident may be part of a larger pattern of alleged abuse, further cementing their history of legal and domestic troubles.
Despite the serious allegations, Lohan’s camp is standing by him. His representative, Mike Quinn, issued a statement portraying him as a devoted family man.
“We want to take a moment to recognize Michael Lohan as a devoted father, and I’ve only known him as a loving husband, and a man who has proudly maintained his sobriety for over a decade. His dedication to his younger boys and his unwavering support for his wife, Kate, reflect his deep love and commitment to his family,” Quinn stated.
He also emphasized Lohan’s support for Major’s own battle with sobriety, suggesting that the couple had faced their struggles together. Quinn expressed confidence that Lohan would be cleared of all charges.
This is far from the first time Michael Lohan and Kate Major have made headlines for their troubled relationship. The two married in 2014 and share two sons, Landon and Logan, but their marriage has been marred by legal issues and domestic disputes.
In 2018, Major filed for divorce, stating their relationship was “irretrievably broken.” However, the petition was withdrawn in 2019, and the two attempted to reconcile.
Lohan has a history of run-ins with the law. In 2020, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment, which resulted in two years of probation.
Major, a former journalist, has had her own share of legal troubles. In 2015, she was arrested in Boca Raton, Florida, after allegedly attacking Lohan while intoxicated during an argument over infidelity. She later accused him of grabbing her by the throat, but no evidence was found to support her claim.
She was also arrested for driving while intoxicated in 2020—ironically, just before Lohan himself was taken into custody on separate abuse allegations.
As Lohan prepares to appear in court, speculation swirls over whether this latest arrest will lead to serious legal consequences. Given his past run-ins with the law, prosecutors may push for harsher penalties.
Meanwhile, Major’s statement suggests that she is determined to see this case through, possibly severing ties with Lohan for good.
Whether Lohan will be cleared of the charges or face further legal fallout remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—his troubled past continues to haunt him, and this latest arrest only adds to his long history of controversy.
